Desc: Ootsunami no ato ni: Directed by Shuichi Morimoto. The Great East Japan Earthquake created turmoil not only in Japan, but all over the world as well. Two weeks after the event on March 11, I visited the cities of Sendai, Ishinomaki, and Higashimatsushima. I travelled around the affected areas on my own, until I ran out of gas, and I recorded the scenery and the voices of the people I met. I focused on Okawa Elementary School in Ishinomaki where out of 108 children, 74 were swallowed by the tsunami. My goal is to show those who have not been to the disaster areas, what happened there on that fateful day.
